Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, broke her long silence as she sent a goodwill message to Nigerian women on International Women’s Day.

Outspoken Mrs Buhari had gone off the radar around September 2020 shortly after the wedding of her daughter, Hanan.

EFCC Helping To Retrieve N11bn in Bank, N6bn Stolen –NHIS

The National Health Insurance Scheme is making efforts to recover some missing funds estimated at about N27bn, its Executive Secretary, Prof. Mohammed Sambo, has said.

While expressing optimism that the NHIS Amendment Bill pending before the National Assembly for passage would change the face of health insurance in the country, he said a review of the NHIS Act would allow the agency to enroll more Nigerians.

Businessman threatens to sue Sahara Reporters over ‘libelous, defamatory’ publication

A billionaire businessman and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Nasiru Danu, has threatened legal action against an online news platform, Sahara Reporters, over alleged libelous and defamatory publication against his person.

The news platform had on Friday, March 5, published a report alleging that Mr Danu had connived with some top officials of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, to defraud the Nigerian government of N51billion.

EXCLUSIVE: How Cabal Prevented Buhari From Acting On Magu’s Probe Report Since December 2020

Cabals in the Presidency have schemed to ensure that President Muhammadu Buhari does not act on the Justice Ayo Salami’s probe report on immediate past acting Chairman of the Economic and Finan­cial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, submitted since 2020.

The Salami panel report was itself submitted in November 2020, but the details of the report nor its recommendations have not been disclosed to the public since then.

Diezani’s trial: Court fixes May 17 for EFCC’s report

The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, fixed May 17 for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to give a report on how it has complied with the court order in the trial of former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke.

Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu fixed the date following the absence of the EFCC’s lawyer, Farouk Abdullah, in court.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that that the matter, which was earlier fixed for report or arraignment of the ex-minister, could not proceed as neither Abdullah nor Diezani was in court.

Ayeni is the chairman of the IBEDC, which formally came into existence in November 2013 as part of the unbundling of the electricity sector.
